We're knee deep into April, and the weather is "cooperating". Sure we want to pull out our summer dresses and cute tees, but we aren't quite there yet. Enter the closet purge. It is the perfect time of year to implement the old saying "Out with the old, and in with the new".
There are various reasons why we purge our closets. The primary reason for most people is to literally make room for new fashion pieces that are current and on point. Another reason is to donate the clothes you are bored of to someone who will love them like they are brand spanking new. Here's a third and fourth reason, some consignment shops will pay you for them, and lastly, some new brands use old clothes to recreate new gems.
What to purge:
Clothes you haven't worn in 4 seasons
Clothes that no longer fit you
Clothes that have lost their product integrity (holes, stretched, etc,)
You will always have a strong urge to hold on to sentimental pieces for one reason or another. If it is too hard for you to part with the above items, you may need to call in reinforcements. Perhaps a close female relative who can persuade you to let go of your most beloved gems.
Let me sign off with another famous saying that will give you strength as you begin the process of making room in your saturated closet. "One man's trash is another man's treasure".
